Basketball

Our basketball practices are on Wednesday nights at West Towne Courts to prepare for the district and state tournaments. Basketball competes in a District tournament to qualify for the State Tournament.
This year, Districts will be on February 17th at Drake in Des Moines. State will be March 9-10th in Iowa City. This is an overnight tournament where athletes stay in a hotel with coaches and staff.
The first four weeks of practice consists of assessments to separate athletes into teams. We will then meet for the following times:
6-7pm – 3×3 teams + any skills individuals (skills athletes must talk to Lauren with staff about competing, if desired)
7-8pm – 5×5 teams – these teams are more competitive and run the full length of the court
Please come to basketball ready to work hard with clean court shoes and a positive attitude. Athletes must have an updated physical and consent form along with their Arc Annual Registration to compete.
