Since 1953 The Arc of Story County has strived to enrich the lives of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they learn, work, play and grow within the community. Through advocacy and services we will support persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
The Arc invites you to come “Achieve with us.”
The Arc advocates for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), preserving and protecting their fundamental rights through advocacy and action in support of legislation for civil rights, employment, housing and supports. We connect people with disabilities, their families, professionals and others to create hope, growth and change.
The Arc of Story County will present its 2018 awards at Viva la Arc Casino Night, March 3. Nominations need to be received by February 16 and submitted to The Arc Awards’ Committee Chair, either electronically or via US mail. More details are available in the 2018 Arc Award Nomination Form.

The Arc of Story County is an advocacy based non-profit organization serving Story County, based in Ames, Iowa. The Arc provides services which partner with local businesses, providers and community members to enrich the lives of people with disabilities.
The Arc was established in 1953 by a core group of families advocating for their children. It is still that same drive to improve the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community that allows US to be a leader in advocacy and services.
